In first place, I am rather satisfied I did not die everywhere. This said, I was smashed.

I think that a lot of the problems came from a wrong choice of the joseki in the upper left corner at the very beginning of the game (as I knew any joseki! lol). Also I think I invaded the last corner too early (at move 42). The real problem is that I don't know how I could have reduce the white potential in the lower side.

And also moves 123 and 131 are probably really wrong. They are not the largest move on the board. As I realized from white's responses.

Can anyone tell me if I am right? Did I miss something? How could I have avoided to be crushed by white pretty much everywhere?

Game summary:

Thanks for uploading your game to! My name is Leo and I play as 2k on KGS. I will have a look at your game and leave comments and variations to provide you with some ideas how to improve your game.

In fact you made two major joseki mistakes in the first two corners (upper and lower left) which both led to much better outcomes for White. This is the main reason why it was relatively easy for your opponent to build very big territory on the left side while you got almost no points at the same time. Please see the variations for move 11 and move 51 to find correct joseki sequences.

The other big mistakes I found were move 63 and move 75 where you gave up important stones. In general cutting stones are very important. So please check twice next time whether or not you can afford to sacrifice them.

I hope you will enjoy the review. Good luck for your next games! Leo
